Most contractors don't have an invoicing problem. They have a disconnection problem. The invoice is fine — it's everything that has to happen before you send it that creates the headache.
You finish a job. Now you have to remember what you quoted, confirm what you actually did, find the customer's contact, build the invoice from scratch, and hope the number matches what they were expecting. If any of that lives in a different place — a text thread, a paper form, a separate spreadsheet — you're doing double the work and introducing errors along the way.
According to a 2024 Jobber survey, contractors who require online payment get invoices paid in an average of four days. Those who only accept checks wait 21. The payment method matters — but so does how fast you can actually get the invoice out the door after the job closes.
